When the renegade Guardian Krona conquered Oa and the Green Lantern Corps, Kyle was unable to use his Green Lantern ring. Kyle then used a Blue Lantern ring to fight against Krona and help liberate Oa.
Yes, Kyle only wore the Blue Lantern ring for a few issues, and will probably never wear this costume again. But I was already making a modern Kyle, so it was easy to make another with blue paint instead of green.
