Robotman
Race car driver Cliff Steele suffered an accident that left him near-dead. Then an experimental operation by the Chief saved Cliff's brain by putting it into a powerful robot body. Cliff took his new body badly in the beginning, but adjusted and became a member of the Doom Patrol as Robotman.
Robotman survived the horrible bomb blast that broke up the first Doom Patrol. He later went on to become a member of the Vertigo-era Doom Patrol.
