Iron Lantern

Back in 1996, DC and Marvel Comics teamed up to create Amalgam Comics, where the two companies smooshed their characters together to create all new characters. For example, Green Lantern and Iron Man were combined to create the new armored hero the Iron Lantern! While visiting an alien craft's crash site, Hal Stark suffered a life-threatning chest wound! Using the alien technology from the wreckage, Stark build a suit of armor to keep his heart beating, powered by a lantern-shaped battery. With his new armor, Stark fought off alien invaders and became the Iron Lantern!

The Recipe

The Iron Lantern is made from a repainted Minimate. His faceplate comes from the Mark III Iron Man, with the mouth sanded and smoothed away. His shoulder fins come from the Neo-Classic Iron Man, while his wrist and leg bands come from the Classic Iron Man. Iron Lantern's chest, arm and leg details are from water-transfer decals, and his chest lantern is made from cut plastic and another decal.
